FundedNext Stellar 2-Step rules + payout math

Two-step evaluation with 8% static drawdown, weekend holding allowed and no news blackout. Middle ground between FTMO and FundingPips.

FundedNext's flagship Stellar 2-Step is a forgiving two-phase evaluation: 8% maximum static drawdown anchored to starting balance, 5% daily loss, 8% phase-1 target and 5% phase-2 target. No minimum trading days, weekend holding and news trading allowed, and the consistency rule was removed in 2025. Funded payouts run bi-weekly with an 80% baseline split that scales to 90% as the account grows.

Common breach reasons

Where traders blow FundedNext Stellar 2-Step accounts.

The patterns we see most often, informed by the rule structure, not anecdote. Each one is something our backtester catches on a pre-flight run.

8% static max drawdown

Anchored to starting balance, NOT trailing — once you draw down 8% from the initial deposit you're out, even if equity ran higher in between. Looser than FundingPips' trailing 5% but tighter than FTMO's static 10%.

5% daily loss

Calculated against the previous day's closing balance. Standard mid-bracket cap; the breach math is identical to FTMO.

Profit target by phase

Phase 1 requires +8% and Phase 2 requires +5%. The Glitch backtester models the eval gate at +8% so a passing curve has proven it can clear phase 1.

FAQ

Questions traders ask about FundedNext Stellar 2-Step.

Does FundedNext allow EAs and automation?

Yes on MT4 and MT5 — own-account EAs are explicitly permitted. cTrader and MatchTrader server-side API routing is BANNED per the public policy, so the Glitch pre-trade gate refuses cTrader-bound armings on FundedNext accounts by default. Use MT5-bridged execution instead.

Can I hold positions over the weekend?

Yes — Stellar 2-Step allows weekend holds. Distinguishes it from FundingPips Zero (which forces flat by Friday close).

How does Stellar 2-Step compare to FTMO Phase 1?

Both are static-DD two-step evaluations. FundedNext is tighter on drawdown (8% vs FTMO's 10%) but more forgiving on phase 1 target (8% vs 10%). FundedNext allows news trading; FTMO has a small blackout window. Pick FundedNext if you trade through news; pick FTMO if drawdown room matters more than target room.

Is the 15% consistency rule still enforced?

No — the 'best day ≤ 15% of total profit' consistency rule was removed from Stellar in 2025. The backtester carries zero on this field so older strategies aren't blocked by a stale rule. Verify against the live FundedNext policy page before any contractual decision.
